Area teen killed in Pasadena accident
A Lake Jackson teenager, last years Miss Festival of Lights Teen, died Wednesday after her car slid into a bayou from a rain-slicked Pasadena street.
Natalie Marie Woolsey, 18, was killed after her sport utility vehicle hydroplaned in the 10000 block of Red Bluff Road, near Old Underwood in Pasadena, and slid into a bayou about 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, according to Pasadena police reports.
The Miss Festival of Lights pageant, originally scheduled for tonight, was postponed until early next week after organizers learned of Woolseys death Wednesday evening. She was to have been the pageants emcee.
Woolsey was last years Miss Festival of Lights Teen, pageant organizer Kathy White said. She had graduated from Brazoswood High School in May, and she was enrolled at San Jacinto College, White said.
White said shell remember the petite brunettes bubbly personality.
When she walked in a room, it just lit up, White said. She just had a million-dollar smile that just captured everybody.
That charisma helped her win the crown of Miss Festival of Lights Teen last year, a title she was eager to pass on to her successor, White said.
She wanted to be there to help everyone, White said.
Pageant organizers had counselors on hand to comfort contestants as they learned the news Wednesday evening.
